This week my son James was the "star of the week" in his class. Today I had to go into his class to read, which I just love doing!! When I first walked into the school, I saw my 3rd grader Christina who looked at me like, "Oh my gosh what is my mom doing here?" Then when she realized I wasn't there for her or to speak to her teacher, she gave me a smile and a quick hello to her baby sister and then she was off!! As I am walking up to James class I see my 5th grader in the hall coming back from gym with her class. As soon as she sees me, her cheeks turn red and you can tell she wants me not to be there and not to embarrass her! When her friends see her little sister they are all excited and EVERYBODY wants to hug her!! After a few hugs from the 5th graders and a few blown kisses to Kaleigh ( embarrassing!!!!) we were off to our destination. James kindergarten class. When I walked into the room James jumps up runs over to me with a huge hug for me & his sister Marisa, so refreshing after practically being shunned by my older girls!! I know this will not last so I am enjoying every moment. He was SO happy to have us in his classroom and read him a book about baseball and so was I.
On the topic of baseball, I spent a majority of my afternoon watching the Yankees Parade. Since this my 1st season as a baseball (Yankees ) fan, I really enjoyed watching it. I liked seeing the players out of uniform and with their families. I did not get why Jay Z was riding in the float with A- Rod!?! Why??? I would like to have seen them wear their jersey's though. I am definitely bummed that baseball is over, I really liked watching the Yankees, and I am a little nervous when I heard talk of Johnny Damon possibly not returning??!!! I love him, and will be sad if he does not come back next season.
Now I am off to clear the bomb that exploded in my house the same time as when my kids got home...how ironic!!!
